The Fourth Central Asian Internet Governance Forum – CAIGF will be held on May 15-16, 2019 in the city of Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan.
CAIGF is an open platform for discussing policy issues on Internet governance in Central Asian countries, which annually gathers more than 200 participants from Central Asia, the CIS and Europe – experts in the field of Internet governance, representatives of ministries, communication agencies, law enforcement agencies, as well as representatives of international organizations and commercial companies, research centers.
This year the main theme of the forum will be the development of the Internet to expand the capabilities of Central Asia. The forum will discuss cyber security and freedom to regulate the Internet, digital rights in a transnational context, use of the Internet to strengthen the stability of the region, global and national approaches to managing the Internet.
The Forum is organized by the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in conjunction with the Civic Initiative Internet Policy Foundation support of ICANN, Internet Society, Facebook, the OSCE Office in Uzbekistan and other partners.
