Kyrgyzstan wants to fight corruption with cryptocurrency

05.03.2018

Kyrgyz Prime Minister Sapar Isakov is confident that corruption in government procurement can be fought with cryptocurrency. He said this at the Digital Agenda in the Globalization Era forum.

“We work with cryptocurrencies with our colleagues from the EEU. But I am sure that they can be used in the public procurement system. In addition, our Taza Koom project will optimize government spending and increase the revenue side of the budget. Next year we want to become a digital government, ” – concluded Sapar Isakov.

Isakov did not say anything about plans to use cryptocurrency in the public procurement system. It is only known that the government of Kyrgyzstan is working on options that will expand the role of cryptocurrencies in the state.
