Internet users in Kyrgyzstan are more than 85% of the population according to the results of 2016

In Kyrgyzstan, in 2016, there are 5.1 million active Internet users.

85% of the population of Kyrgyzstan (5.1 million citizens) in 2016 were internet users. Such data are given in the report on preliminary results of realization of the national strategy of sustainable Development of Kyrgyzstan for 2013-2017 years. For comparison, according to the results of 2015, the country had 4.8 million users of data transmission services, according to the state agency of Communications. That is, the dynamics of the number of Internet users can be estimated at 6.25%.

In the global ICT rating of the International Telecommunication Union for 2016 Kyrgyzstan took 113 place from 175 countries. According to the tariffs for mobile broadband Internet access (SHPD) Kyrgyzstan occupies roughly the average position in the post-Soviet space, the cost of a fixed SHPD is above the average level.
